FAQs

How long do your candles typically burn?

The 3 oz votives in our collection provide approximately 20 hours of burn time, while the classic 9.6 oz candles offer 48 hours of enjoyment. Natural waxes like beeswax and coconut burn more slowly and efficiently than paraffin, giving you significantly longer enjoyment from each candle.

Do your candles produce soot or black smoke when burning?

The natural wax candles in our collection produce minimal soot compared to paraffin candles. When burned properly (wick trimmed, away from drafts), they create a clean, bright flame with virtually no black smoke. The combination of natural waxes and cotton/linen wicks ensures a much cleaner burning experience.

Are the wicks in your candles lead-free?

Absolutely. We only select candles using cotton and linen wicks. Lead wicks were banned in the US in 2003, but we go beyond compliance by partnering with brands that carefully select natural fiber wicks that burn cleanly and safely.

Why might the scent throw vary between different candles in your collection?

The candles we source use organic essential oils and natural fragrance oils that create a softer, more subtle scent experience compared to conventional candles with synthetic fragrances. This intentional choice results in pleasant, nuanced aromas that won't overwhelm a space. Scent throw can also vary based on the specific botanical ingredients used, the natural wax base, and environmental factors like room size and air circulation. We believe this softer approach to fragrance creates a more authentic and enjoyable sensory experience.

Do you offer gift wrapping or corporate gifting options?

Yes! While the standard packaging from our candle makers is already gift-worthy with beautiful presentation, we're happy to provide special gift wrapping upon request. The candles come in recycled and FSC-certified boxes with accents that make a thoughtful impression.

Can I place special orders for events or weddings?

Absolutely! We welcome special orders for events and weddings. We can work directly with our suppliers to create specially customized candles for your occasion—whether that's custom scents, personalized labels, or specific quantities to match your event theme. Please contact us directly to discuss your specific needs, timeline, and any custom requirements. We're happy to collaborate with our candle makers to help make your special occasion even more memorable with clean-burning, beautifully scented candles tailored to your vision.

Why do some of your candles cost more than conventional candles?

The candles in our collection reflect the true cost of quality ingredients and careful craftsmanship. Natural waxes like beeswax and coconut cost significantly more than paraffin. Organic essential oils and clean fragrance oils are more expensive than synthetic alternatives. Additionally, these candles burn longer than conventional options, providing better value over time while supporting ethical sourcing practices and environmental sustainability.
